Even at 58, it's a Barbie world for Gillette woman
Linda Hanson has wanted a Barbie doll and a pink Princess telephone since she was 10 years old.She finally bought a Barbie for herself in 1992. She had to wait 50 years for the Princess telephone, but just a few weeks ago, her 85-year-old father bought her one of the cotton-candy-pink telephones.Today, she is 58 and her Barbie collection dominates the window display case of Cook's Nook, the store she manages here in Gillette. There are Barbies in black and Barbies in pink and Barbies in purple and Barbies in gold. There are Holiday Barbies and there is a Millennium Barbie. There are Barbie ornaments, dozens and dozens of them; on the tree, on the shelves, on the display boxes. There is a cream-colored, Barbie-sized Corvette driven by a blonde Barbie in a emerald-green summer dress. There is also, of course, her brand-new, cotton-candy-pink, dial-lights-up-at-night Princess telephone sitting right up front. As far as Linda Hanson is concerned, she's living her second childhood."Why, I just loved Barbie as a child but when I was growing up, we didn't have a lot of money," she says.

WESTWOOD, Mass., Feb. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- LoJack Corporation (NASDAQ: LOJN) and its Global Licensee Network -- which includes organizations in more than 30 countries in North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa and Asia -- today released highlights of their top worldwide stolen vehicle and commercial recovery stories of 2007. This year's stories reflect the important role the Network's recovery systems play in helping society by not only curbing the growing global problem of vehicle theft, but also by assisting police apprehend the criminals -- and bring an end to organized theft rings -- that are often behind this and other more serious crimes. Dolphins: Five things to know
Rookie John Beck was sizzling on the day I watched practice and some Dolphins observers say he has been the best quarterback in camp so far. He is working against the backups most of the time, but Beck has a strong arm and a quick release. He told reporters that he has his wife quiz him on the playbook when he's driving to help him get a better understanding of the offense. I get the feeling he will be starting by November. And all those Miami fans who ripped the team for not taking Brady Quinn will come to love this kid. 4. The Dolphins offensive line struggled last year, but this year it's a new group from tackle-to-tackle. Right tackle Vernon Carey moves to the left side with Anthony Alabi going in at right tackle. Rookie Samson Satele will start at center with fellow rookie Drew Mormino at right guard.
