| Avatars let cybersavvy show their inner selves
Some educate or perform concerts, perhaps in the form of an ogre or a large squirrel. Some have sex or annihilate armies of other avatars. They are whatever you wish to be in a cyber-land that doesn't exist, yet does. "Life beyond reality ... where imagination knows no bounds," announces a video clip for Second Life, an online site that Carter recently introduced to his English students at the University of Central Missouri. "So vast, so versatile, so exhilarating!" So very weird And to the uninitiated, so very weird. The uninitiated, however, shrink by the hour. Worldwide, at least 9 million 3-D avatars exist in Second Life, buying islands, racing cars, raising pets and attending church (or strip clubs). The fantasy role-playing game "World of Warcraft" boasts more than 10 million subscribers, .
2007 BMW X5 3.0 si Review
When it debuted seven years ago, the X5 was a very BMW take on the then-new crossover SUV concept. SUVs in those days were generally ponderous utility-oriented trucks, the antithesis of all that BMW had built its reputation on. The X5 was different. Made in America (Spartanburg, South Carolina, to be exact) primarily for the American market, the X5 had nearly all of the handling and performance virtues of its sedan or wagon relatives, with extra ground clearance and an appropriate rugged look. It looked like an SUV, but BMW called it a "Sports Activity Vehicle", or SAV, and registered the term and abbreviation. To say it was successful would be massive understatement. But seven years in today's ultracompetitive automotive industry is an eternity. All of the X5's competitors have been renewed in that time, and that left it lacking in some areas.
Concepts hint at Chrysler's greener future
The introduction of three Earth-friendly Chrysler LLC concept cars today will serve as a coming out party for ENVI, a skunk works team at the automaker whose aim is to bring electric-drive vehicles to market. In rolling out the vehicles -- an electric Dodge sports wagon, a fuel-cell powered Chrysler sedan and a small electric Jeep with a diesel range extender -- the Auburn Hills automaker is hinting at its future green products. All three vehicles are powered by batteries and electric motors. Two of them use a range extender to recharge the batteries while the car is in operation; the Chrysler ecoVoyager has a fuel cell, and the Jeep Renegade has a small diesel engine. The other concept, the Dodge ZEO, is an entirely electric vehicle that must be plugged in for recharging.

Pick up a six pack for a sizzling summer
Call it vanity, but having a strong, flat stomach really isnt enough. If youre sick of attractive women swooning about Brad Pitts abs in Fight Club, its crunch time. Start with improving your mid-body strength with a variety of exercises. The best exercises for the abdominals will focus on all of your lower middle muscles, including: the lower back muscles, the lower side spinal muscles, and the both the middle abdominals and the obliques. Crunches, bent-knee sit-ups, trunk twists, back raises and side bends are the easiest and safest exercises. Start off with a small amount of reps and do as many sets as you can. Gradually add more sit-ups to each set. Start with say, 20 crunches, rest, then do 20 more, rest and do another 20. Work your way up to 50 crunches in each set and build up to doing at least three sets.

GMC goes green with Denali XT concept
For years, GMC has been the tailored truck brand with an advanced, professional pedigree. General Motors Corp. likened it to the Viking stove of the construction and landscape trades. But in showcasing a new sport pickup concept with a hybrid powertrain, General Motors Corp.'s venerable truck brand is once again shifting with the times. It started with the 2007 Acadia, a full-size crossover that is more car and wagon, and far more fuel efficient, than a hulking truck or SUV. Now comes the low-slung Denali XT hybrid, a muscular, car-based concept with attitude and green credentials that will be introduced at the Chicago Auto Show on Wednesday. .
